Fabiana Cid de Andrade is Managing Director at Aqua Capital, and Senior Advisor to LAVCA.

Prior to joining Aqua Partners, she worked at FIRSTavenue Partners. Fabiana spent three years at Credit Suisse as Vice President in their private funds group and led the firm’s activities in Latin America across the alternative asset class. Before Credit Suisse, she was Director of Business Development and Strategy at LAVCA. Other roles include Head of Latin America Regional Distribution at ING Investment Management, where she led the firm’s commercial efforts in the Region including offshore mutual funds and private equity fundraising. In addition, she oversaw the distribution of Latin America-based investment strategies to global markets. Fabiana began her career as Product Manager for American Express Latin America and ABN Amro/Real in Brazil.

Kathleen Bacon joined HarbourVest in London in 1994 and served as a managing director focused on managing European and emerging markets primary partnership investments. In June 2019, Kathleen became a Senior Advisor. Kathleen served on the advisory boards of a number of private equity partnerships. She also serves on the BVCA Council and is a founder of Level20, an organization where the goal is to attract and retain women in private equity.

Kathleen’s prior experience includes a position with the First National Bank of Boston, where she was responsible for lending to US subsidiaries of UK-owned companies.

Kathleen received a BA in Russian from Dartmouth College in 1986 and an MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1993.

Sally Bergmann is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. Ivonne Cuello

Ivonne Cuello is CEO of the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA), where she heads the organizational direction and strategy including programming and execution of LAVCA Week, the organization’s annual private investor meeting in New York. Ivonne is also the lead point of engagement with members and key private capital industry leaders and represents the association at important industry gatherings. Ivonne has worked at LAVCA since 2014 and during that time she has spearheaded the organization’s work in public policy, including production of the LAVCA Scorecard (a ranking of the PE/VC environment in key markets). She also handled the creation and management of LAVCA | MIT Inside Private Equity, Deal Making in Latin America.

Prior to joining LAVCA, Ivonne was Director of Entrepreneurship at ANDI (Asociacion Nacional de Empresarios de Colombia), a private sector organization in Colombia with over 1,100 members. In this role she headed and launched their Entrepreneurship Program called ANDI del Futuro with 300 high potential entrepreneurs. She also built the National Mentor and Investment Angel platform for the program, with the support of MIT and over 50 C-Level Executives and HNWI. Ivonne previously worked at Proexport Colombia, a government investment agency where she liaised with over 30 private equity investors from the US, Canada, the UK, and Asia. In addition, she collaborated with the Ministry of Finance and a local development bank in an effort to enhance the regulatory framework for private equity in Colombia.

Paula Delgadillo

Paula Delgadillo Sanz de Santamaría has more than 15 years of experience in alternatives investments, capital markets, and equity valuation. Since July 2019, Paula has served as Executive Director of Colombian Association of Private Equity Funds – ColCapital.
Prior to joining ColCapital, Paula was managing and analyzing alternatives investments at Seguros Bolivar, for more than 10 years. Previously, she was Equity Analyst at Valores Bancolombia, and worked in financial and strategic planning at Titularizadora Colombia.

Mrs. Delgadillo holds an MA from Tulane University, an MBA from Universidad ICESI and holds an Economist degree and Finance degree, both from Universidad El Rosario in Colombia.

Javier Díaz Fajardo

Javier Díaz worked as president of Renta 4 Global, a fiduciary which while on office tripled its monthly revenues, doubled its administered assets and significantly increased the number of clients.

Between 2013 and 2017 he worked as Commercial Vice-president and Corporate Vice-president ad int. of the Colombian Stock Exchange Markets, where he actively enhanced the business model transformation, promoted the first SMEs fintech for their financing – through capital markets – and contributed to double the consolidated income of the Stock Exchange. He also served as member of the boards of the Colombian Foreign Exchange Clearing House, SET-ICAP, Precia (former Infovalmer) and Derivex. He is a founding member of the Colombian Institute of Corporate Governance.

Previously, he served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Grupo Aval, the largest financial group in Colombia. Between 2010 and 2012, he managed the Group’s registration process with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and participated in local and international securities offers for more than 2.7 million dollars. Before joining Grupo Aval, he founded and acted as CEO of Andes Capital, an investment fund in Colombia. Until 2007, he served as Chief Counsel of the Multilateral Investment Fund of the IDB, based in Washington. He also worked as an associate at the law firms of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton in New York, and Cárdenas & Cárdenas in Colombia.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the Fletcher School at Tufts University (USA) and earned his undergraduate degree in law from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.

Alberto Hernandez is a Managing Director at ACON Investments. Prior to joining ACON in 2013, Mr. Hernandez was a Managing Director with the manager of Arco Capital Corporation from 2007 to 2013. While at Arco, Mr. Hernandez was responsible for its worldwide investments and assets, which included companies in Colombia and Eastern Europe, where Mr. Hernandez held various Board of Directors and senior management positions. Through his role at Arco, Mr. Hernandez has actively participated in the Colombian investment and financial sector since late 2009. Prior to joining Arco, Mr. Hernandez was a Director in the European Mergers and Acquisitions group of UBS in London. From 1997 to 2006, Mr. Hernandez was an investment banker for JP Morgan Chase focused on cross border mergers and acquisitions advice for clients in Latin America, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. Mr. Hernandez serves on the Board of Directors of AMFORA Packaging, Credifinanciera, Biosidus Group, and Salesland, each ACON fund portfolio companies.

Mr. Hernandez received a B.Sc., summa cum laude, in Finance, Investments, and Economics from Babson College. Mr. Hernandez has also completed a concentration in economics and political sciences at the London School of Economics as a general course student.

Joncarlo R. Mark

Joncarlo R. Mark is founder of Upwelling Capital Group LLC, an investment adviser that provides capital solutions to premier institutional investors. Prior to forming Upwelling in 2011, Joncarlo was a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Alternative Investment Management (AIM) Program at the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). CalPERS is the largest US public pension fund, with over $300 billion in overall assets. From 2007 to 2010, Joncarlo served as Chairman of the Board for the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), whose 250-member institutions at the time managed more than $1 trillion of private equity capital. He continues to serve as a faculty member for the ILPA Institute, which provides executive education to its membership. Joncarlo is currently a trustee for the University of California Davis Foundation, having served as chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee from 2017 to 2019. From 2012 to 2018, he was also on the Board of Directors for AltExchange Alliance, an industry group dedicated to implementing standardization of financial reporting in private equity. Prior to joining CalPERS in 1999, Joncarlo spent six years with Premier Farnell PLC, a global industrial products manufacturing and distribution company.

Luis Gabriel Morcillo

Andrea Onate

Andrea Onate is an investment principal at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Andrea is responsible for private equity funds investments and co-investments in Latin America and real estate funds globally, including sourcing, structuring, and closing such investments. She currently manages a portfolio of over US$2.5 billion in fund investments and serves on several Advisory Boards of Latam private equity funds. Andrea has over eighteen years of experience in emerging markets banking, private equity and finance. Within IFC, Andrea also worked on Financial Institutions projects in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with a focus on strengthening the performance of banks in emerging markets.

Prior to IFC, Andrea worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Inter-American Investment Corporation focusing on trade finance, debt and sub-debt transactions for banks in Latin America.

Susana Garcia Robles

Susana Garcia Robles is Executive Advisor to the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA). In 2020, she is retiring from her role as Chief, Loans & Equity Operations and Gender Coordinator at IDB LAB. Since 1999, Susana Garcia-Robles has been the principal architect of IDB Lab’s (formerly MIF/FOMIN) seed/VC investment program as well as its high impact entrepreneurship and angel investment/women economic empowerment strategies. A recognized expert on development finance innovation, she assumed the leadership of all MIF financial operations as of September 1st, 2017. She serves on multiple boards of directors of VC funds and foundations, and is frequently invited to speak at industry events on angel, seed/VC, impact investment, entrepreneurship and women’s issues. She is a co-founder of the Argentinean VC Association/ARCAP and the Colombian VC/PE Association ColCapital, an Advisory Board member of the Colombian VC/PE Association ColCapital, a member of the LAVCA VC Group, a member of the EMPEA DFI Council, and Advisory Board member of the Brazilian VC Association, ABVCAP. In 2012 she co-founded WeXchange, the first pitch competition and platform of encounter between LAC women entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. In 2016 she co-founded the Impact Investment Task Force for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Héctor Cateriano Rondón

Since 2006, he led the investment efforts of the first diversified private equity fund in Colombia, Fondo Transandino Colombia (FTC), where he successfully completed the full cycle of the fund, achieving top USD tier returns for its investors.

Also, founding partner and CEO of MAS Equity Partners, a PE firm specialized in growth capital for the mid-cap segment in Andean countries, which has raised more than USD 200MM in AUM.

As part of his responsibilities, he has been a member of the board and diverse committees of most of the funds‘ portfolio companies. Previously he served as Director for SEAF’s India Growth Fund and SEAF’s India International Growth Fund. He also served as Director for Estonia of SEAF’s Baltic Small Equity Fund (BSEF).

Toni Vainio

Toni is a member of Pantheon’s Global Credit Committee and European Investment Committee focusing on the monitoring and analysis of private debt secondary investments and European primary investments. Toni was previously at Cambridge Associates where he worked in the private equity team, advising institutional investors on their private equity investment programs. He holds an MPhil in economics from the University of Oxford, and a BEng in engineering with business finance, which was jointly taught at University College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Toni is fluent in Finnish, Spanish, and English.

Fuad Velasco

Fuad Velasco Juri is currently a partner of the firm Nexus. He is an economist at the US Air Force Academy, was a Fulbright Scholar when he earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland and also completed the CEO Management Program at Kellogg Business School and the Strategic Management for Competitive Advantage course at Business School Wharton.
