Global growth markets investor Actis has agreed to invest up to USD180 million in equity in a Series C funding round for China-based data center developer and operator Chayora Holdings. Investing through Actis Asia Real Estate Fund, Actis has already completed the USD64 million first tranche of the investment. Chayora has separately secured USD250 million in project financing. It plans to use the debt package, along with the capital increase from Actis, to complete the development of two facilities in Tianjin and acquire land for future projects. Actis first secured a stake in Chayora when it acquired Standard Chartered’s Principal Finance Real Estate business in Asia in 2018.
