Goldman Sachs Exits CSS to IHS, Invests in Melhortaxa

Global investment banking and asset management group Goldman Sachs, along with family office Centaurus Capital, has agreed to sell Brazil-based telecommunications infrastructure provider Cell Site Solutions (CSS) to IHS Towers, an owner and operator of telecommunications infrastructure predominantly focused on Africa. Financial details of this transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, were not disclosed. CSS operates approximately 2,290 towers and other telecommunications infrastructure sites across Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. Separately, Goldman Sachs has invested BRL4.5 million (approximately USD1.1 million) for an additional 4 percent stake in Melhortaxa, a Brazil-based real estate financing platform. The investment reportedly values the company at BRL100 million (USD25 million).
