KKR Sells Stake in SBI Life for USD73 Million, Joins USD10 Million Investment in aCommerce

Global alternative asset manager KKR has sold a 0.65 percent stake in SBI Life, the insurance subsidiary of the State Bank of India, for INR5 billion (approximately USD73 million) on the National Stock Exchange of India. KKR, which originally acquired a 4 percent stake in SBI Life in 2016 for USD265 million, will retain a 1.3 percent stake in the company following the transaction. Separately, KKR has joined a USD10 million investment round for Thailand-based aCommerce, a provider of e-commerce logistics, marketing, and fulfillment services. KKR invested through its pan-Asia media and entertainment investment platform Emerald Media. Other investors in the round include Australia-listed alternative asset manager Blue Sky, marketing and strategy services firm DKSH Holding, and Indonesia-based conglomerate Sinar Mas Group.
