Actis


Adiba Ighodaro was a founding member of international private equity firm, Actis. She joined its predecessor firm, UK Government-owned CDC, in 1991. Appointed West Africa Head in 2000, Adiba established CDC/Actis’ Nigeria office together with an early investment portfolio. From 2004, Adiba formed new and strategic institutional relationships for Actis and raised funds from across the Americas, the Gulf, Asia and Africa. This involved moving to New York from London in 2012 to establish and manage Actis’ IDG Americas office.

In 2021, Adiba stepped off the Actis partnership into a senior advisor role for specific investments in Energy and Real Estate in Africa. Adiba is an independent non-executive board director of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, and a former non-executive board member of Old Mutual Plc. Adiba was also a founding investment committee and board member of Africa  Capital Alliance (ACA).

Adiba began her career in Law. She holds a LLB (King’s College, London), a C Dip Accounting & Finance (ACCA) and is a member of both the Nigerian Bar Association and the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, UK.
