Marcus Simpson has more than 20 years’ experience establishing and expanding private equity programs across the globe. He founded QIC’s Global Private Equity capabilities in 2005 and today, manages $5.0bn of AUM invested into funds and direct investments globally.

Before joining QIC, Marcus founded and managed the US operations for Altius Associates Limited, a private equity consultant and discretionary manager. His clients included a number of large institutional investors globally. He participated in the global management and investment strategy for Altius and sat on the Investment Committee. From 1996 to 2000 Marcus worked for the Virginia Retirement System, a US public pension plan with assets of US$49 billion and a 5% allocation to private equity. Marcus added a non-US component to what was a wholly US portfolio and then managed the global private equity program.

From 1990 to 1995 Marcus worked in the London office of the Bankers Trust Company where he structured a number of buy-out financings.
