David Mathewson

Small Enterprise Assistance Funds

David Mathewson joined SEAF as President in 2016. Mr. Mathewson chairs SEAF’s Global Investment Committee and works on all aspects of SEAF’s strategic development and daily operations.

From 2010 to 2015, David served as Senior Managing Director of Darby Private Equity/Franklin Templeton. From 2000 to 2009, he was Managing Director at Soros Fund Management LLC and an affiliate where he served as a founding member of the management team of Southeast Europe Equity Fund I and II, two private equity funds for Southeast Europe and Turkey with combined capital of $520 million.

Additionally, David has worked as a Director at Delphos International/Banc One Capital Markets; Deputy Vice President for Investment Funds at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; and as a banker at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in New York.

David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Economics, with distinction, from Stanford University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a Master of Management degree from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
