The Rohatyn Group (TRG)


Nicolas Rohatyn serves on GPCA’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Rohatyn is based in New York and oversees overall strategy and management of the Rohatyn Group (TRG), an independent investment firm focused on emerging markets. Through a variety of fund launches as well as acquisitions the firm has developed a number of strategies to invest in both private and public markets in emerging markets. TRG has a truly global footprint with more than USD5 billion in total assets under management, and offices in 17 countries around the world.

Prior to founding TRG in 2002, Mr. Rohatyn spent 19 years at J.P. Morgan, where he held a variety of leadership positions in emerging markets, foreign exchange, commodities, credit markets and e-commerce functions. Mr. Rohatyn served as a member of J.P. Morgan’s executive management team for five years. During his tenure, J.P. Morgan established its widely acknowledged leadership position in emerging markets securities distribution, trading and research. Mr. Rohatyn was a founder and former Chairman of the Emerging Markets Traders Association (EMTA). Mr. Rohatyn also currently serves on the boards of The Asia Society and Robert College Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brown University.
