Nikunj Jinsi has over 25 years of venture capital investment experience. Mr. Jinsi joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 2003 and heads a team of over 30 investment professionals at IFC’s Venture Capital investment team globally. The VC team has built a direct portfolio in leading emerging market technology companies, of over $600mm, and demonstrated consistent profitability over the past 15 years. Mr. Jinsi has led over 70 VC transactions, several of which have had successful exits, for which IFC acted as a (co-)lead, involving other leading VC/private equity and strategic players. He has taken on board positions on several of IFC’s portfolio companies. In addition, Mr. Jinsi also leads LP investments in leading EM VC fund managers, having made over 25 LP investments for a total of over $400mm. Mr. Jinsi has spoken at various high-profile investor conferences and media events.
Prior to joining IFC in Washington DC, Mr. Jinsi spent nine years living and working in Asia. He was a Managing Director for one of Asia’s leading venture funds. Earlier Nikunj spent four years in the Asian TMT investment banking industry providing M&A and corporate finance services to clients throughout the region. In addition, he was the co-owner of South East Asia’s largest independent marketing communications agency. Mr. Jinsi started his career working as a Project Engineer/Manager at KPN, in The Hague in The Netherlands.
Nikunj has an MBA degree from Stanford University, which he attended as a Fulbright Scholar, and an M Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands
