Mr. Seymour has over 43 years of investment experience in international and emerging markets through 18 years at Bankers Trust living and working in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America; 13 years at Commonfund Capital managing international/emerging markets private equity funds of funds; 4 years at EMP Global, a Washington based emerging markets private equity firm; and since 2010 with Pontefract Global Strategies, LLC (PGS). PGS advises private equity and social impact investment firms in frontier emerging markets on global best practices. Current and past relationships include a corporate finance firm in Vietnam; a Cambodia private equity firm; a private equity firm in Haiti; a venture capital firm in India; a private equity firm in Nigeria; a mezzanine debt firm in South Africa; a private equity firm in Bangladesh; and an investment firm that structures property developments for educational institutions in Africa. Mr. Seymour has served on 18 international, emerging market, and domestic private equity fund advisory boards and was the first chairman of the Advisory Council of EMPEA. For 23 years he served on the board of the Ashmore Africa Emerging Markets Fund and currently is on the board of IDG Ventures India as well as several non-profit boards including Social Enterprise Greenhouse in Rhode Island, Maternova Research, Bryant University International Business Program, and Student Language Exchange. In the past he has served on the boards of the Global Partnership for Afghanistan; the Private Equity Council at the Thunderbird School of International Management; The Brent School, an Anglican boarding school in the Philippines; the American Church in London; Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport, CT; and the Westport Public Library.
