Katherine Stepanian is a Research Analyst at EMPEA, where she covers China, as well as Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). She obtained her B.A. from George Washington University, majoring in International Economics with a regional focus in Eurasia and East Asia and double-minoring in Economics and Russian Studies. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad at Capital Normal University in Beijing, China. Katherine is fluent in Russian and has intermediate proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
